New Style
Jul 08, 2008 - 10:21 PM - by Jonathan
I just wanted to let you all know I've added a new style. I don't know if you've ever noticed, but at the very bottom of every page is a drop-down box that now has 3 styles you can choose from.

The Default style is the original one. I added "Element" a few weeks ago and now I've added one called "Element Blue" which is a blue variation of the original Element.... [Read More]

CPR: Do the Police Treat You with Courtesy, Professionalism and Respect?
Apr 12, 2008 - 8:36 PM - by Jonathan
I just got off the phone with a friend who was involved in a hit and run accident while in a cab earlier this week. They were at a stop light and when the light turned green the cab driver slammed on the gas and sped right into the path of an oncoming motorcycle. The motorcyclist was knocked off her bike and was injured but they say she should be okay.

My friend (who is pregnant)... [Read More]

curly hair cutting and shaping
Feb 23, 2008 - 11:49 AM - by JoJe
Can anyone recommend a hair salon or hairdresser who specializes in haircuts for women with naturally curly hair who want to enhance the natural curl, not straighten it. My friend has long, naturally curly hair? Thx.

FIRE GUTS BROWNSTONE
Jan 02, 2008 - 8:13 PM - by Jonathan
FIRE GUTS BROWNSTONE

I was just driving up 10th Ave bet. 45th & 46th Streets and there were about 12 fire trucks lined up the street. A friend told me a brownstone on that corner totally burned down. Anyone heard anything else about it?

7 Kids Arrested
Dec 07, 2007 - 2:09 PM - by Jonathan
Did anyone hear anything about the 7 or so teenagers who were arrested yesterday on 9th Ave in the upper 50's I saw a bunch of police cars there and a padiwagon. But had no idea what had happened.

Don't miss Will Durst's Show
Oct 01, 2007 - 4:54 PM - by Fred
Will Durst is probably one of the greatest political satirists working today. He is right on top of everything. If it happens today guaranteed he will have it in his one man show. The show is at the New World Stages on West 50th St between 8th and 9th Ave. He really tears Bush apart but also rips into the Democrats as well. The show is about 90 minutes and definitely worth seeing.

Yum Yum is YUMMIE!!
Sep 30, 2007 - 12:01 AM - by Cat
Hey, I just moved in the neighborhood, and just found out Yum Yum 3 has the BEST Thai food ever! I ordered my favourite dish, which is Tom Yum Noodles. It's spicy and sour. They brought it out sizzling hot - just the way I like it. Everything food-wise was perfect.

However, the service left a lot to be desired. The waitresses didn't seem to give a darn and didn't crack a smile... [Read More]

SMOKING vs. DRINKING
Aug 19, 2007 - 11:13 PM - by Fred
Strange isn't it hat the goverment banned all cigarette ads and commercials BUT they still allow the alcohol ads and commercials. One could smoke a carton of cigarettes (if they wished too) and still get behind the wheel of a car and drive safely. However you could not have a few drinks and do the same. Guess this is another big payoff to the government to allow the liquor and beer ads. Amazing,... [Read More]

New To Hell's Kitchen....and LOVE it!!!
Aug 17, 2007 - 11:29 AM - by Fred
I recently moved to this area and LOVE it. Have lived in various parts of the city but find Tenth Ave between 51-52 St is the best place to be. Easy access to the entire city. My only one complaint is the drivers along Tenth Ave. There are times they must believe they are racing at the Indianapolis raceway. Other than that this is the ONLY place to live. Easy access to every type of ethnic food... [Read More]

TRANS FAT......
Aug 16, 2007 - 11:43 PM - by Fred
Just another item that the politicians keep bantering back and forth. Why is it that Denmark, a much smaller country than the U.S.A. has stopped all trans-fat and has made it illegal for the last two years, and we can't??? I am certain that the politicians are getting paid big bucks to prevent this from happening. How is it that all the fast food restaurants there can serve food without trans-fat... [Read More]

Car Hits Millionaire - Worst Landlord in HK!
May 14, 2007 - 8:25 PM - by Buffy
Did anyone see this in the Gothamist? I don't know whether to laugh... or...

It was reported with the headline "Pedestrian Struck on West 51st bet 9th & 10th". But it turns out the pedestrian wasn't just any pedestrian. It was Steve Green, a millionaire real-estate developer and once a member of the "worst landlords in the city" club! He was leaving... [Read More]
